The Smith Cloud is one of the most important Galactic high-velocity clouds (HVCs) in that it is relatively nearby, has well-defined properties, and is now interacting with and merging with the Milky Way disk. The Smith Cloud has been the object of considerable study in the past decade. Most investigations, both theoretical and observational, rely on partial results from a new GBT HI survey that I have released to interested parties. The full GBT HI survey has never been published, however, because of problems with RFI that result in a non-uniform noise level and gaps in the maps. This proposal is to complete the GBT survey of the main portion of the Smith Cloud by filling in a few gaps, and re-observing areas that were compromised by interference.
