RRL Observations of Got C+ Positions

Abstract

The Herschel Got C+ survey observed more than 500 positions along the Galactic plane in 158um [CII] emission. We observed many of these positions in radio recombination line (RRL) emission. These observations will allow us to determine the distribution of ionized gas in the plane of the Milky Way, the contribution from ionized gas to the observed [CII] emission, and the mean electron density of the emitting gas. Here, we follow up on positions that have <3sigma detections.
